There are thousands upon thousands of games on Steam Greenlight. Some are pretty terrible, begging the question why one would spend the $100 needed to post their “title”, while others are diamonds in the rough. Greenlight can be a rough place, but having explored the seemingly bleak and often murky underbelly, here are five games worth your vote.
With games like Football Manager being given a free pass to Steam, the reasons OOTP has not been able to get traction on Steam is odd. OOTP is, without question, the best text-based baseball simulation on the market. This has been the case for quite a few years now. Is it a lack of marketing on the part of OOTP Developments? Perhaps they just threw the game up on Greenlight to see what kind of a reaction they would get from players who may not know about OOTP. In any event, OOTP is a addictive and extremely polished title developed by professionals who know baseball. This game should be on Steam.

Her mother has been slain by ferocious monsters. The capital city of Heian is now teaming with evil spirits. Based around the concept of Tsukumogami and other medieval Japanese lore, 99 Spirits looks to take PC gamers on a vast and wondrous trip. Black Annex surprised many fans and industry insiders when developer, Lance McDonald, released his first gameplay trailer. The overwhelming response – Wow. Just wow. From the information currently available, Black Annex will sport the isometric action type of gameplay which was widely used in the 1990s. We hope this trend of trench coat-wearing Cloak and Dagger style of PC games will continue to infiltrate the industry. While it is fun to mindless blow away enemies of all shapes and sizes, there is something to be said for the ability to plan out your attacks without firing a single shot. Once again, we have a situation where PC gamers have the opportunity to not only vote on Black Annex for being different, but for being a quality product made by one guy with tremendous passion.
Paranautical Activity has the rapid pace of an old school shooter coupled with the high stakes of a rougelike. For those who are into classic run-and-gun along with dire consequences to your actions, this seems like a match made in heaven. Paranautical Activity is a perfect example of a game you can pick up for a few minutes or get lost for several hours.
