From the Galactic Empire to the Roman Empire. Ex-LucasArts developers, SeaCliff Interactive, have been in the studio working on their new indie title, Super Roman Conquest. The game aims to offer gamers a mix of Total War and FTL wrapped in a 16-bit side-scrolling package. Here is what the dev team is saying about Super Roman Conquest:
“Super Roman Conquest is a side-scrolling strategy game that gives you full control of your troops within a multi-layered, 3D landscape. Developed by veterans of LucasArts, SRC blends our formative PC-gaming past with modern RTS design elements and a deep Campaign Mode progression.
We find the problem with most of today’s side-scrolling strategy games is the lack of real “strategy” in the gameplay. Most involve just building units as quickly as possible with little thought given to how you’ll utilize your troops. This is because most fighting takes place on a linear path and you cannot take actual control of your army. In SRC, we’re looking to give you unprecedented control over your units and take the side-scrolling genre to a whole new level of strategy!”
